Transfer Services

We're often asked if we can transfer 8-tracks to cd. You bet!. The only thing that we require is that the tape be tuned-up or repaired before the transfer is made. If your tape just needs a minor repair/tune up before the transfer the cost is $3 per tape. If it need a major repair (see our 8-track repair page for more information) the cost will be at least $5 per tape.

*****We can only make transfers from original media. If you want a transfer of commercial music, you must have the original media with all songs to be transferred. This is how we view the fair use laws. Some may not agree with this and that's okay, but that's how we'll do business.*******

Here is a break down of charges:

If we make a straight transfer (not taking out ka-chunks) from 8-Track to cd - $15 per cd + tune-up charge (see above) and s/h. *Additional copies can be made for $5 per cd. If we take out ka-chunks and clean up the cd (taking out as much hiss as possible) - $20 + tune-up charge (see above) and s/h.

A cd will only hold about 74-80 minutes of recorded music. If you have an 8-track that is longer than that, the cd will have to be broken down into 2 cd's. In this case, the first cd will be $15 (or $20) and the second cd will be $5.

So for example, if you have an 8-track that is less than 74-80 minutes, and just needs a minor tune-up/repair, the total with s/h would be about $22-$27*.

If you have an 8-track, that is more than 74-80 minutes, with minor tune-up/repair, 2 cd's will have to be made. The total with s/h would be about $27-$32. *If you wanted additonal copies, the first of the 2 cd's would be $5 and the 2nd would be $2.50.

If you have a tape(s) that need major repairs, please email us so we can determine what the charges would be.

If you have artwork that you want scanned in for the case sleeves, please add $2 per scan to your totals ($2 per piece of artwork scanned).

All tapes & cd's will be sent back via media mail with delivery confirmation. If you would rather them go back via priority or another method, please let us know so we could refigure the total.

*These are an approximate totals. We will need your zip to figure s/h. Also, if you'll be paying with a credit card through paypal, please let us know since there is a small fee to use this service with us.
